We present to you the Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso remixes of Diddy vs. Felix da Housecat's "Jack U". Along with the original classic session, this edition contains the ultra rare MSTRKRFT edit of Angello and Ingrosso's rework, which has only been heard previously on the aforementioned Essential Mix of May 24th, 2008. Felix is of course the undisputed King of Electro. Now the sound he pioneered has been paired with the vocals of Grammy award winner, Diddy. The full release is receiving upfront support from Antoine Clamaran, Laidback Luke, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill and of course Pete Tong himself. This historic recording is reborn through the fresh voices of Swedish House Mafia superstars, Angello and Ingrosso and reinterpreted for the blog-house set by Jesse, AKA JFK of MSTRKRFT/Death from Above 1979. The result is no less than a modern masterpiece.

So what does it sound like? Old School Jam vs. New School Jack. Opening with an unrepentant 808 cowbell and clap coming down hard on the quarter note, the overture of Angello and Ingrosso's remix sounds hot out of an analog drum machine. But just as a vocal bassline starts to bubble out of this loop, the action grinds to a surprising halt and we find ourselves with Diddy's rhyme, recalling that of the Jungle Brothers' from so long ago. The buildup crescendos with Diddy's command, "Jack! Jack! Jack! Jack!" The result is the kind of big synth bassline payoff that you can always count on Angello and Ingrosso to deliver. Known for their ability to work the dramatic elements of any record with an unsurpassed skill level, this Swedish duo's rework of Jack U is an example of what to do right with a remix. The JFK re-edit only cranks the volume on Angello and Ingrosso's vision. The madman behind the MSTRKRFT sensation brings the pacing up, putting a new level of electro heat under its parent track. And then there is the original, which brought rhymes and electro back together with an energy that hadn't been felt since the early days of Kraftwerk influenced hip hop.

Please welcome the second release on Fabrice Lig's brand new digital label Melodika Recordings. This time for our sophomore effort we have picked up something special from the UK's own Matt Chester. Matt has been writing and producing music for close to a decade now. Deeply influenced by the melodies and soul of the Jazz, Blues and Funk he grew up with, as well as the Synth-pop of the 80's and the electronic experiments of composers like Vangelis, he was totally blown away when first exposed to Detroit Techno, and has never looked back. His production perfectly represents that passion for high quality music, and is both diverse and distinct in its style.
