Nightshifters is proud to present the debut release by Edinburgh, Scotland's No.1 rave master - Hostage! Alan Parley has been around for a bunch of years, starting with Hardcore and Techno, but finding his true home in bass-heavy club music. He's been a darling of the electro blog scene for years and has racked up some serious mileage already, now he's ready for the prime time.

"Shake It" is the tour-de-force that you've been looking for this year, four prime-time club bangers: Leathered, Roll On, The Slave, and Shake It. Hostage proves he'll get the kids to stage dive in no time; glow sticks will be pumped, confetti thrown, fireworks exploded. Hostage is here and you better get ready.

"Shake It" also features remixes by Acid Jacks' Jackmaster (Melbourne) and AC Slater (New York City). Both these guys have been burning up their scenes and these remixes just prove why. AC Slater comes fresh off a UK tour and remixes for the likes of Moby and Drop The Lime. Jackmaster just released his debut Ep on Idiot House records.

Parker MusicWorks presents the latest Terrence Parker release entitled, "Obamalistic". While this legendary DJ, Producer and Remixer from Detroit is known for his soulful and inspirational House vibes, this one is especially unique as it chronicles the historic election of the first African-American President of The United States of America. It is a wonderfully soulful production with a massive groovin' melody. There is also an instrumental version for those DJs who want to enjoy one of TP's finest and most inspiring musical productions.

4TRK016 – Bip Soup “Hangar E.P.” 4 Track Records – TECH-HOUSE
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Derrick May, Dave Clarke, Dubfire, Ken Ishii, Michel de Hey, Jori Hulkkonen, DJ Misjah, Jim Masters, Punisher (Detroit), Rob Warner, Lance Desardi, DJ Hyperactive, Droid Behavior, Matt Rissi

Feedback:
Dubfire – “5 out of 5”
Danny Tenaglia – “4 out of 5”
Jim Masters – “nice deep groove, chugs along and builds layer by layer. 5 out of 5”
Rob Warner – “Nice. Will be playing for sure. 4 out of 5”

Bip Soup is the Moscow-based electronic producer Petr Serkin (DJ Combinator). The main idea behind his project is real-time techno improvisation. In the studio Petr produces half-finished tracks, which can be controlled in real-time at gigs. So the answer to the question [what and where] appears in a matter of seconds, even before the realization of music and sound sculptures begin. Therefore each new live gig is it's own unique performance. Bip Soup offers two deep tech-house gems here with the title track "Hangar" having thick deep chord stabs complimenting the sparse bass line which eventually builds up to an eerie sci-fi break at just the right time. Having elements of both house and minimal techno working well together to be an instrumental track for DJ's to transition either direction in a set. The second track "Superhangar" is mechanical swinging tech-house floor filler. So many moving parts in the percussion all-playing off each other brilliantly with a ton of decay on the effects building into a juggernaut of a track that can see itself being played to the very end.

Feedback:

Luciano – “Love it! 4 out of 5”

After the success of the last Cirez D release on Jel Ford's Jericho label we now have a perfect follow up from another top Swedish producer - Joel Mull. Joel has been firmly established on the scene for over 10 years now but lately has been doing some amazing projects for labels such as Audiomatique, Saved and Cocoon. Here he delivers the perfect Jericho two tracker with Viewpoint having a supremely funky bassline, lush chords and catchy hooks whilst Hollaland is a great contrast with its menacing yet funky feel and clever vocal refrain followed by enormous drop.

HOG001 – Pig & Dan “Twisted Lip” Hedgehog – TECHNO/MINIMAL
*Receiving support from DJs: Laurent Garnier, Dubfire, Steve Lawler, Christian Smith, Davide Squillace, Hernan Cattaneo, Tedd Patterson, Laidback Luke, Paolo Mojo, Orde Meikle (Slam), Meat Katie, Lewis Dene, Sarah Main, Chris Fortier, Jonty Skrufff, Wollion, Anil Chawla, Tom Taylor, Maher Daniel, Dave Robertson, Tim Andersen, Gorge, Gavin Kingsley, Jim Rivers, Manuel le Saux, Neil Quigley, James Talk, Murray Richardson, Raymundo Rodriguez, Tom Budden, Enzo, Elite Force, Andy D. (M.O.S. Radio), Paul Hamill, Jerry Frempong (Push FM), Stuart King, M.O.D.E., Pete Gooding, Steve Grant, Luis Bonias, Richard Grey

Feedback:
Laurent Garnier – “I like Confusion very much will play this a lot! 4 out of 5”
Dubfire – “Great new one from the boys 5 out of 5”
Hernan Cattaneo – “like this! Thanks. 4 out of 5”
Christian Smith – “thanks. 4 out of 5”
Laidback Luke – “Oh shit! I LOVE Confusion. Will support. 5 out of 5”
Tedd Patterson – “Twisted Up is pretty hot. I’m gonna enjoy rockin’ this one. 5 out of 5”

Hedgehog is a brand new imprint owned by the UK production company - Splinter Productions. It sits alongside its other labels such as Jericho perfectly with the emphasis being on slightly harder techno grooves that don't have the melodic content charactaristic to Jericho releases. To kick the label off we have the mighty Pig & Dan who should need no introduction having produced so many seminal releases and remixes over the last few hears that its hard to keep track! Here, the sound is slightly different for them with the Twisted Lip being a rolling twisted techno track with razor sharp production and serious build with some devastating edits. Also on offer, we have Confusion - an unashamed old school killer of a track with its old rave samples and enormous rave bassline - not for the faint hearted. Look out for other hot projects on this brand new label.

DTX078 – Max Toymaster “Devil featuring Harrison Crump” Dust Traxx Chicago – ELECTRO HOUSE
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Fedde Le Grand, Roger Sanchez, Osunlade, Tony Senghore, Honey Dijon, DJ Misjah, Ibiza Global Radio, Lance Desardi, Ibiza Sonica, Sleazy McQueen, Raoul Belmans, Lawnchair Generals, Jay West, Angel Alanis, Lady D, Chris Simmonds, Damian Wilson (CR2 Records), Ricky Ryan, Rob Paine,

Feedback:
Fedde Le Grand – “Love the Crump master! 4 out of 5”
Roger Sanchez – “Thanks. Will play. 4 out of 5”
Ibiza Global Radio – “Full support. 5 out of 5”
Lady D – “this is nice. even pacing, wish it had one more element, something memorable...but its very nice overall. 5 out of 5”

Straight out of Toys-r-Us or maybe Kidrobot, new man on the scene Max Toymaster has a brand new release sure to wow you. Devil is an electro house jam featuring the vocals of the legendary Harrison Crump. Add on a hot remix from Alan Braxe of Roule/Music Sounds Better With You fame and you've got something extra special. But just to top it all off we've added 3 extra remixes from new comers Bad & Rad, Rainbo Video and Sirhan.

ANM016 – Tony Senghore & Baron Bane “Love.Cure.All Remixes” Anonym – ELECTRO HOUSE
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Bad Boy Bill, David Guetta, Deetron, Jim Masters, Tommie Sunshine, Rooster & Peralta, Martin Venetjoki, Chris Fortier, Damian Wilson (CR2 Records), Mike Gillenwater

Feedback:
Bad Boy Bill – “Thanks. 5 out of 5”
Tommie Sunshine – “Cool stuff. 4 out of 5”
Jim Masters – “Wicked dark, dirty techfunk. 5 out of 5”
Chris Fortier – “Both remixes are good. I’ll play them. 4 out of 5”

The Love.Cure.All remixes are in and they are hot! Nothern light prophet Style Of Eye goes from strength to strength delivering his trademark groove with vigor, flair and amazing body-language fluency. These fresh sounds, huge breakdowns, solid grooves and full underground credibility are exactly what keeps Style Of Eye so essential these days. David Ekenback hits hard with some of his dirtiest and most rocking stuff so far, galantly serving up the goods with this amazing little number. A fool-proof production that is guaranteed to rock floors to devastating effect. It is gutsy, pure, raw & slightly rude. Resistance is futile.

KLIT002 – Kaufmann und Ferdinand “Egger E.P.” Klientele – TECHNO
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, John Selway, Ken Ishii, Michel De Hey, Technasia, Lance Desardi, Chris Fortier, DJ Misjah, Thomas Penton, Ibiza Global Radio, Ibiza Sonica Radio, Tim Thaler (Sonnet77 Radio), Andy Toth, DJ FEX, Rob Warner

Feedback:
Laurent Garnier – “Yep Egger is the one for me. THANKS!! 4 out of 5”
Danny Tenaglia – “4 out of 5”
Ibiza Global Radio – “Full support! 4 out of 5”
DJ FEX – “Sounds good! 4 out of 5”

Kaufmann und Ferdinand have had a big year with their Kaufe Musik imprint, Working with remixers such as Jesse Rose (Made to play / Get Physical / Berlin), Someone Else (Foundsound Rec. / USA), Riva Starr (Frontroom / Dirty Bird / GB) and more. Now sharing a release with their musical family across the atlantic ocean, Klientele is proud to present Kaufmann und Ferdinand's simply titled, "Egger EP". This three track EP is an excercise in the unique "klik klack" sound that had fans including Dubfire, Claude Von Stroke (Dirty Bird), Paco Osuna (Minus), Mauro Picotto, Phil Kieran, Frankie (Frankie Records), Troy Pierce (Minus), Justin Robertson, Layo Paskin (Layo & Bushwacka), Behrouz, Hernan Cattaneo, Jim Masters (Hi-Tek-Soul), Satoshi Tomiie, Hector Romero, Joey Beltram (Tresor / New York), Silicone Soul, Stacey Pullen, Mijk van Dijk (Gigolo), Dj Vibe, Oscar G and more playing their last EP. With "Egga" they have crafted a growling modern mechanical acid track. Next up, we have "I Saw You," a tweaked out rubbery jack track that plays somewhere between Get Physical and Green Velvet. Last but certainly not least comes "I am soooo mad," a quirky, tech-ed out trip for fans of Dirtybird.

Great Newletter Coverage From DJ Tunes!

Update on DJ Download ISP Issues

Hey guys,
As many of you know, DJ Download has just moved offices. This morning we were informed that they are experiencing some unfortunate connection issues. They have been kind enough to set up a temporary delivery option, which will allow us to deliver all the content we have on deck, with the same release dates, in advance of the time we would normally deliver it. We're not sure how this outage will affect us with the coming holiday schedule that we were informed about earlier this week though. Hopefully their ISP will pull it together fast enough for us to get one or 2 other deliveries in before the break, but we're trying to prepare for any outcome.

Good luck Team DjDownload! We certainly understand what it's like to work with a difficult provider! Soldier on!

Here is their message to us:

"We are experiencing some problems with our new office internet connection which is causing delays for labels uploading content.

I have set up a temporary account on the server which has a large connection- we will be taking this server offline on Monday morning (17th Nov), so please can you deliver as much content as possible by then to this address and we’ll start processing it on Monday

Sorry for the late notice, we’ve been messed around by out telecoms provider and I wanted to be sure that we get your content for the next few weeks sorted out."

GrooveSource Cycle 132

GrooveSource Cycle 132
Pre-Release Date 11/18/2008
General Release Date 12/9/2008

PMPD011 – Andy Toth “Linwood Part 1” People Mover Productions – TECHNO/MINIMAL
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Dubfire, Dave Clarke, John Selway, Ben Sims, Jim Masters, Markus Schulz, Tim Xavier, Kate Simko, Rennie Foster, Seth Troxler, Submerge 101, DJ Hyperactive, Andy Toth

Feedback:
Dubfire – “5 out of 5”
John Selway – “nice groove. 4 out of 5”
Jim Masters – “wicked groove and like the cut up vox. 4 out of 5”
Markus Schulz – “original is my favorite. 5 out of 5”

People Mover Productions is happy to bring you its first installment of the LINWOOD series. The original production by ANDY TOTH spurned so much interest for remixes that we decided to release it in two parts. Part 1 features Toth's original. LINWOOD is a haunting and deep production that features heavy rhythmic production accompanied by growling vocal samples. Sound effects in the higher frequencies create a dark atmosphere. The COLIN ZYSKOWSKI REMIX plays with original rhythm of the vocals, and features the pads and synths more heavily. The JOSH DAHLBERG REMIX spreads out the percussive aspects of the original and adds a dark melodic layer over the top. Be sure to make room in your crate for all three of these dance-floor-friendly tracks. And keep an eye out for PART 2, with remixes, by KEITH KEMP, ITZONE, and JOSHUA HARRISON!

PP011 – Lee Holman “Circuit E.P.” Prosthetic Pressings – TECHNO
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Ken Ishii, Jim Masters, Lance Desardi, Benji Candelario, DJ Misjah, Punisher (Detroit), DJ Hyperactive, Droid Behavior

Laurent Garnier – “I like Resistor. Very trippy indeed. Will definitely play. 5 out of 5”
Dubfire – “5 out of 5”
Jim Masters – “wicked lush tracks! 4 out of 5”
Benji Candelario – “Really nice. 4 out of 5”

Prosthetic Pressings is back again with another mechanically hard driven release. From Ireland, minimal/techno veteran, Lee Holman joins Prosthetic Pressings for the first time throwing down a computer heavy minimal release. Circuit E.P. navigates you through the glitch side of minimal and the deep rhythmatic undertones of techno. Combined makes for a gear grinding ride of robotic funk. Tracks Capacitor, Resistor and Transistor will push any circuit board to the max resulting in dance floor frenzy...

GET015 – DJ Average Joe “We Go Deep” Getaway Recordings – DEEP HOUSE

*Receiving support from DJs: Mark Farina, Roger Sanchez, Kaskade, Benji Candelario, Jay J, Honey Dijon, Davidson Ospina, Neil Aline, Ibiza Global Radio, Ibiza Sonica, Q-Burns Abstract Message, Lawnchair Generals, Rick Preston, Dave from Dallas

Ibiza Global Radio – “Full support. 5 out of 5”
Rick Preston – “Love this! Nice work. 5 out of 5”
Dave from Dallas – “Full support. 4 out of 5”

Average Joe is just a homeboy from ABQ, NM who moved to SD about 6 years ago, and been working hard at this music thang. He's been around and involved with music his whole life from piano & guitar lessons, to highschool punk/alternative bands, summer music camp (one time at band camp........$%^&) - and now as a DJ / producer of House, Downtempo, and Hip Hop beats. He's having fun with it and enjoying the minor success of having some releases under his belt on a few DOPE ASS house music labels such as Jiggy, Blockhead, Scenic, DAE, Ultrasound and now Getaway Recordings.

COLLECTIVE011 – Metrik “Push” Collective Recordings – DRUM n BASS

*Receiving support from DJs: Andy C, TeeBee, Dylan, Tech Itch, DJ Hype, Keaton, Loxy, Ink, Spor, Raiden, Bad Company, Jade, Black Sun Empire, Manifest, Cold Fusion

Feedback:
Andy C – “Very Good, Playing. 5 out of 5”
Bad Company – “Heard the Metrik mix a while back and loved it. The Jade remix is sick too. 5 out of 5”
TeeBee – “Jade remix yes. 5 out of 5”
Dylan – “Dirty and I like it. 4 out of 5”
Tech Itch – “YES! 5 out of 5”

Metrik returns to the nest for a release on his spiritual home, Collective. What a fantastic year for the rising star with a number of releases both out and forthcoming on Futurebound's legendary Viper Recordings, and a packed gig diary to make any DJ jealous. Metrik is storming the scene with consistent support from DJs, press and radio alike.

Push had been doing the rounds for a while and a constant in the box of DJs all over from Andy C, Teebee, Dylan, Tech Itch, Hype, Keaton, Loxy, Ink, Spor, Raiden, Bad Company, Jade, Black Sun Empire, Manifest and Cold Fusion to name just a few. The huge beats and filthy bass mean this is going to continue to destroy dance floors all over. On the Flip we have the perfect remix from none other then the mighty Jade (BSE, Citrus). Currently working on his first studio album, Jade continues to go from strength to strength and this fantastic remix is no exception.

With over 58 releases, literally thousands of tracks & 80 remixes appearing on over 30 labels, Angel Alanis (Tresor, Tronic, A-squared) has returned to the straight up techno that earned his reputation. Working with co-founder, Marea Stamper AKA Foursquare (fresh from a project with acid innovator DJ Pierre), Alanis and Stamper present the debut release for the Klientele label. Klientele showcases the bleeding edge of techno, not unlike Alanis' "Life", which was charted in May by techno luminary, Adam Beyer and Foursquare's upcoming work which will be remixed by Kyle Geiger of Drumcode. The Klientele project is the first official communication from the pair since remixing Portishead's "Third" in its entirety. With Wobble, Sucio Ritmo & Shandy Bass you have three very different takes on the sound of techno in 2008. Throbbing basslines, heavy beats and all the necessary bleeps and blips, this is one EP that is sure to find it's self in the CD wallets of the biggest DJ's the world over.

Is that his real name? Is he from Europe? People sometimes get a little confused about Harrison Crump and who he is, so let's set the record straight. Yes, it is his real name and no, he's not from Europe. This Chicago born and bred native still lives in "The CHI" and has become that rarest commodity known in dance music - a highly sought-after producer, remixer, singer and songwriter. This guy's songwriting abilities have led to a close musical relationship with long-time friend Felix da Housecat and have earned him production credits on P-Diddy's dance music project Divided Souls. Now it's time for a hot collaboration from his upcoming artist album. Hold You So Close features the incredible vocal stylings of Chicago legend Ron Carroll and includes remixes from Ian Harper and the mighty Roy Davis Jr. This one here is gogin to be a favorite with the deep house crews!

Hot on the heals of Seb Fontaine & Jay-P's 'Love Bite', Seb returns alongside producer Alex Blanco with two huge techno/tech house cuts 'Hotel Toast' and 'All This Shit'. Seb Fontaine needs no introduction. Heavyweight house hitter, Seb has been at the top of game for years and in 2008 he shows no signs of slowing down. In the past year alone, unsung background production hero Alex Blanco has worked with the likes of Jon Carter, Oliver Lang, Jamie McHugh, Grayson Deepgroove and, of course, Seb Fontaine. Finally emerging from the shadows he is set to release a string of solo tech-house and techno releases and collaborations in the coming months, all of which are already receiving serious support from a select group of A-list DJs. 'All This Shit' and 'Hotel Toast' are two catchy tech anthems that will have any dancefloor rocking. Full of killer bass and techy undertones, both tracks deserve your full attention.

A2R718 – Lady Foursquare “Xcite Bike - featuring Lil Surge” A-Squared Muzik –
TECH-HOUSE
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Dubfire, John Selway, DJ Chus Chus, DJ Hyperactive, Lee Foss, Meat Katie, DJ Misjah, Naveen G.

Feedback:
Laurent Garnier – “Full support 4 out of 5”
Dave Clarke – “Full radio support. 4 out of 5”
Dubfire – “5 out of 5”
Meat Katie – “Nice, i will get some use out of this! 5 out of 5”

Coming off the success of her remix of DJ Pierre's "Tha Dance", which the acid master himself praised as, "HOT!...the best mix on the song!," , A-squared is proud to present The Lady Foursquare's debut solo release. "Xcite Bike" defines her sound which has received strong reviews from Mixmag and Resident Advisor (not to mention Felix da Housecat). The original (featuring Lil Surge) weaves elements of her two midwestern parent cities together, perfectly balancing Chicago's jack with the minimal motor sounds of Detroit in a blend reminiscent of Paul Woolford's "Erotic Discourse". The result is an 8 bit wonderland, filled with purring synths, sounding more likely to be operated by joystick than midi controller. Legend has it that the automation for the filters in the original was drawn to resemble the ramps in the original Nintendo game. The Angel Alanis Rework is a massive and rawkus warehouse burner which is somehow completely modern and reminiscent of the glory days of acid-house. Also includes a DJ Tool.
