Update on DJ Download ISP Issues

Hey guys,
As many of you know, DJ Download has just moved offices. This morning we were informed that they are experiencing some unfortunate connection issues. They have been kind enough to set up a temporary delivery option, which will allow us to deliver all the content we have on deck, with the same release dates, in advance of the time we would normally deliver it. We're not sure how this outage will affect us with the coming holiday schedule that we were informed about earlier this week though. Hopefully their ISP will pull it together fast enough for us to get one or 2 other deliveries in before the break, but we're trying to prepare for any outcome.

Good luck Team DjDownload! We certainly understand what it's like to work with a difficult provider! Soldier on!

Here is their message to us:

"We are experiencing some problems with our new office internet connection which is causing delays for labels uploading content.

I have set up a temporary account on the server which has a large connection- we will be taking this server offline on Monday morning (17th Nov), so please can you deliver as much content as possible by then to this address and we’ll start processing it on Monday

Sorry for the late notice, we’ve been messed around by out telecoms provider and I wanted to be sure that we get your content for the next few weeks sorted out."

GrooveSource Cycle 132

GrooveSource Cycle 132
Pre-Release Date 11/18/2008
General Release Date 12/9/2008

PMPD011 – Andy Toth “Linwood Part 1” People Mover Productions – TECHNO/MINIMAL
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Dubfire, Dave Clarke, John Selway, Ben Sims, Jim Masters, Markus Schulz, Tim Xavier, Kate Simko, Rennie Foster, Seth Troxler, Submerge 101, DJ Hyperactive, Andy Toth

Feedback:
Dubfire – “5 out of 5”
John Selway – “nice groove. 4 out of 5”
Jim Masters – “wicked groove and like the cut up vox. 4 out of 5”
Markus Schulz – “original is my favorite. 5 out of 5”

People Mover Productions is happy to bring you its first installment of the LINWOOD series. The original production by ANDY TOTH spurned so much interest for remixes that we decided to release it in two parts. Part 1 features Toth's original. LINWOOD is a haunting and deep production that features heavy rhythmic production accompanied by growling vocal samples. Sound effects in the higher frequencies create a dark atmosphere. The COLIN ZYSKOWSKI REMIX plays with original rhythm of the vocals, and features the pads and synths more heavily. The JOSH DAHLBERG REMIX spreads out the percussive aspects of the original and adds a dark melodic layer over the top. Be sure to make room in your crate for all three of these dance-floor-friendly tracks. And keep an eye out for PART 2, with remixes, by KEITH KEMP, ITZONE, and JOSHUA HARRISON!

PP011 – Lee Holman “Circuit E.P.” Prosthetic Pressings – TECHNO
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Ken Ishii, Jim Masters, Lance Desardi, Benji Candelario, DJ Misjah, Punisher (Detroit), DJ Hyperactive, Droid Behavior

Feedback:
Laurent Garnier – “I like Resistor. Very trippy indeed. Will definitely play. 5 out of 5”
Dubfire – “5 out of 5”
Jim Masters – “wicked lush tracks! 4 out of 5”
Benji Candelario – “Really nice. 4 out of 5”

Prosthetic Pressings is back again with another mechanically hard driven release. From Ireland, minimal/techno veteran, Lee Holman joins Prosthetic Pressings for the first time throwing down a computer heavy minimal release. Circuit E.P. navigates you through the glitch side of minimal and the deep rhythmatic undertones of techno. Combined makes for a gear grinding ride of robotic funk. Tracks Capacitor, Resistor and Transistor will push any circuit board to the max resulting in dance floor frenzy...

GET015 – DJ Average Joe “We Go Deep” Getaway Recordings – DEEP HOUSE

*Receiving support from DJs: Mark Farina, Roger Sanchez, Kaskade, Benji Candelario, Jay J, Honey Dijon, Davidson Ospina, Neil Aline, Ibiza Global Radio, Ibiza Sonica, Q-Burns Abstract Message, Lawnchair Generals, Rick Preston, Dave from Dallas

Dave from Dallas – “Full support. 4 out of 5”

Average Joe is just a homeboy from ABQ, NM who moved to SD about 6 years ago, and been working hard at this music thang. He's been around and involved with music his whole life from piano & guitar lessons, to highschool punk/alternative bands, summer music camp (one time at band camp........$%^&) - and now as a DJ / producer of House, Downtempo, and Hip Hop beats. He's having fun with it and enjoying the minor success of having some releases under his belt on a few DOPE ASS house music labels such as Jiggy, Blockhead, Scenic, DAE, Ultrasound and now Getaway Recordings.

COLLECTIVE011 – Metrik “Push” Collective Recordings – DRUM n BASS

*Receiving support from DJs: Andy C, TeeBee, Dylan, Tech Itch, DJ Hype, Keaton, Loxy, Ink, Spor, Raiden, Bad Company, Jade, Black Sun Empire, Manifest, Cold Fusion

TeeBee – “Jade remix yes. 5 out of 5”
Dylan – “Dirty and I like it. 4 out of 5”
Tech Itch – “YES! 5 out of 5”

Metrik returns to the nest for a release on his spiritual home, Collective. What a fantastic year for the rising star with a number of releases both out and forthcoming on Futurebound's legendary Viper Recordings, and a packed gig diary to make any DJ jealous. Metrik is storming the scene with consistent support from DJs, press and radio alike.

Push had been doing the rounds for a while and a constant in the box of DJs all over from Andy C, Teebee, Dylan, Tech Itch, Hype, Keaton, Loxy, Ink, Spor, Raiden, Bad Company, Jade, Black Sun Empire, Manifest and Cold Fusion to name just a few. The huge beats and filthy bass mean this is going to continue to destroy dance floors all over. On the Flip we have the perfect remix from none other then the mighty Jade (BSE, Citrus). Currently working on his first studio album, Jade continues to go from strength to strength and this fantastic remix is no exception.

Working with co-founder, Marea Stamper AKA Foursquare (fresh from a project with acid innovator DJ Pierre), Alanis and Stamper present the debut release for the Klientele label. Klientele showcases the bleeding edge of techno, not unlike Alanis' "Life", which was charted in May by techno luminary, Adam Beyer and Foursquare's upcoming work which will be remixed by Kyle Geiger of Drumcode. The Klientele project is the first official communication from the pair since remixing Portishead's "Third" in its entirety. Their work on that project was almost universally praised: Laurent Garnier ("Excellent!"), Miss Kittin ("Yo... It really rocks... " ), Drop the Lime ("Killer..."), Bob Rifo/ Bloody Beetroots ("Amazing stuff guys!!!!! Love, Bob Rifo"), New York Magazine (Turns Portishead's Machine Gun "into an actual, you know, song"), Benny Benassi: ("I love").

With Wobble, Sucio Ritmo & Shandy Bass you have three very different takes on the sound of techno in 2008. Throbbing basslines, heavy beats and all the necessary bleeps and blips, this is one EP that is sure to find it's self in the CD wallets of the biggest DJ's the world over.

Is that his real name? Is he from Europe? People sometimes get a little confused about Harrison Crump and who he is, so let's set the record straight. Yes, it is his real name and no, he's not from Europe. This Chicago born and bred native still lives in "The CHI" and has become that rarest commodity known in dance music - a highly sought-after producer, remixer, singer and songwriter. This guy's songwriting abilities have led to a close musical relationship with long-time friend Felix da Housecat and have earned him production credits on P-Diddy's dance music project Divided Souls. Now it's time for a hot collaboration from his upcoming artist album. Hold You So Close features the incredible vocal stylings of Chicago legend Ron Carroll and includes remixes from Ian Harper and the mighty Roy Davis Jr. This one here is gogin to be a favorite with the deep house crews!

ATFC – ““All this shit” is the one for me! 5 out of 5”

Tony Senghore – “Should work really well! 5 out of 5”

Hot on the heals of Seb Fontaine & Jay-P's 'Love Bite', Seb returns alongside producer Alex Blanco with two huge techno/tech house cuts 'Hotel Toast' and 'All This Shit'. Seb Fontaine needs no introduction. Heavyweight house hitter, Seb has been at the top of game for years and in 2008 he shows no signs of slowing down. In the past year alone, unsung background production hero Alex Blanco has worked with the likes of Jon Carter, Oliver Lang, Jamie McHugh, Grayson Deepgroove and, of course, Seb Fontaine. Finally emerging from the shadows he is set to release a string of solo tech-house and techno releases and collaborations in the coming months, all of which are already receiving serious support from a select group of A-list DJs. 'All This Shit' and 'Hotel Toast' are two catchy tech anthems that will have any dancefloor rocking. Full of killer bass and techy undertones, both tracks deserve your full attention.

A2R718 – Lady Foursquare “Xcite Bike - featuring Lil Surge” A-Squared Muzik –
TECH-HOUSE
*Receiving support from DJs: Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Dubfire, John Selway, DJ Chus Chus, DJ Hyperactive, Lee Foss, Meat Katie, DJ Misjah, Naveen G.

Feedback:
Laurent Garnier – “Full support 4 out of 5”
Dave Clarke – “Full radio support. 4 out of 5”
Dubfire – “5 out of 5”
Meat Katie – “Nice, i will get some use out of this! 5 out of 5”

Coming off the success of her remix of DJ Pierre's "Tha Dance", which the acid master himself praised as, "HOT!...the best mix on the song!," , A-squared is proud to present The Lady Foursquare's debut solo release. "Xcite Bike" defines her sound which has received strong reviews from Mixmag and Resident Advisor (not to mention Felix da Housecat). The original (featuring Lil Surge) weaves elements of her two midwestern parent cities together, perfectly balancing Chicago's jack with the minimal motor sounds of Detroit in a blend reminiscent of Paul Woolford's "Erotic Discourse". The result is an 8 bit wonderland, filled with purring synths, sounding more likely to be operated by joystick than midi controller. Legend has it that the automation for the filters in the original was drawn to resemble the ramps in the original Nintendo game. The Angel Alanis Rework is a massive and rawkus warehouse burner which is somehow completely modern and reminiscent of the glory days of acid-house. Also includes a DJ Tool.

Pre-Release Date 10/28/2008
General Live Date Week of 11/18/2008

MAU5LTD001 – Deadmau5 “Ghosts N Stuff” Mau5trap – ELECTRO HOUSE

This is a very special DIGITAL ONLY release from the mighty Deadmau5. A bit of a treat, fresh out of the lab just in time for Halloween.

Here’s the story:
Basically, Pete Tong asked Deadmau5 to write a track while on his Beatport sponsored tour and “Ghosts N Stuff” is the result! It's been on Pete's show two weeks running, Deadmau5 opened with it at the essential mix live @ The Warehouse Project Manchester and Calvin Harris used it in his forthcoming Essential Mix which airs this week. The track is being tied in with a huge gig deadmau5 has in LA for Halloween for which he is also making a special Halloween head and this track is going to be the 'theme'. Feedback for the track has been huge and the fact that only Pete Tong has it has made the buzz even greater. Other marketing AnD Press are doing is alongside Alex Greenberg @ MSO PR & Hard Events and AnD Press are also doing E-Shots to the deadmau5 database, Ibiza Voice database and running banner ads.

MODE005 – M.O.D.E. “Lost” M.O.D.E. – PROGRESSIVE HOUSE/TECH-HOUSE/TECHNO

*Receiving support from DJs: Pete Tong, Erick Morillo, Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Laidback Luke, ATFC, Redanka, Tom Findlay (Groove Armada), Alex Costa, Rooster & Peralta, Noir, Damian Wilson (CR2 Records), Tony Senghore, Orde Meikle (Slam), Paul Harris, Kenneth Thomas, Chris Fortier, Stu Hirst, Greg Churchill

*Receiving support from Radio: BBC Radio 1 (UK), Raw FM, Kiss FM (UK), Fresh FM (AUS), XM Satellite (USA), Proton Radio (UK), COAST FM (Spain), Radio M2o (Italy)

Feedback:
Hernan Cattaneo – “Good Stuff”
Laidback Luke – “What a quality EP! Sounds like a big one, very good stuff!”
Orde Meikle (Slam) – “love the pelle buys mix - fucking excellent”
Tom Findlay (Groove Armada) – “the dimitri/like mike rmx sounds great. Love the pelle buys remix! t.”
Kenneth Thomas – “Digging the Original. GROSS!”
ATFC – “Really nice beats”
Alex Costa – “Adam Shaw rmx is for me ... Superb Sound !!!”

Following the amazing success of their debut track 'After Dark' that received global support from Sasha, Digweed, Cattaneo, Groove Armada, Ramirez and Lawler amongst others, M.O.D.E return with the infectious track 'LOST' on their M.O.D.E. imprint. The original is a bumpy techy chugger that rolls along with a driving bass line incorporating catchy bleeps, glitches and riffs. The clever breakdown builds to launch the second half of the track in great fashion, and the track has already been tested on floors around the world to huge response. And so onto the remixes and first up is Deadmau5 favourite Adam Shaw. Fresh from his recent EP on Mau5trap, Adam turns in a funky techno edged workout that glides along effortlessly. A pulsing bass line and tight percussion rip through the mix, whilst Adam retains the feel for the original with clever use of the core elements. This is set to be huge. Next up comes Berlin based Pelle Buys with a dark trippy minimal workout for those crazy 7am moments. Pelle has had recent success with releases on John Digweed's Transitions series, and this nod to the twisted side of house isn't for the faint hearted. A bubbling groove never lets up all the way though the track, and eerie noises and effects keep this one in the realms of super deep house. Last but by no means least, is the Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike Remix. This superb piece of uber cool electro shows why these two new producers are being tipped by the industry as ones to watch. A chunky bass line and superb synths power along with no let up, and this is sure to be a favorite in many sets for weeks to come.

HEJ00B – Punisher (Detroit) & John Overfiend “Twisting Trees” Hej Records – Minimal
*Receiving support from: Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Adam Beyer, Dubfire, John Selway, Josh Wink, Joel Mull, Chris Liebing, Par Grindvik, Slam, Alexi Delano, Joachim, DJ Misjah, Noah Levine (XLR8R, Urb), Chris Simmonds, Chris Udoh, Aubrey, Chris Fortier

Feedback:
Danny Tenaglia – “4 out of 5”
Dubfire – “5 out of 5”
Joachim – “yep will play, support. 5 out of 5”
Chris Fortier – “this is great, i like all the mixes. i played the last john overfiend record a ton. 5 out of 5”

The HEJ Pioneers deliver the second installment of a digital only series, featuring four tracks from label owners PUNISHER (Michelle Herrmann) and JOHN OVERFIEND. PUNISHER begins with "Undertow", a track that is constantly in motion. Acid sounds shift and pivot through the shuffled beats that are washed over by droning voice samples and fluttering pitched bongos. Michelle's "Dimb" is stripped down with minimal tribal clicks and claps that merge into a simple yet lush infectious melody. The steaming hiss and ambient keys build in the breakdowns before the sassy bass drops. JOHN OVERFIEND takes you on a journey with "Man From Space" infused with haunting effected vocals stretched and delayed in every direction. Swanky analog blips and pumping synth bass is unleashed as the track builds into a frenzy of movement. John's next gem, "Call That One Blue" has a unique feel with layered otherworldly synth tones and twisted funky bass. The chopped up staggered primal vocal snippets, and driving swirled percussion drop hard after the intense breaks, highlighted with a tripped out intro and outro perfect for mixing. With mastering by Tim Xavier, the sound quality speaks for itself. Hej receives regular support from Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Par Grindvik, Adultnapper, Deetron, Camea, Laurent Garnier, Alexi Delano, Tim Xavier and other world class DJ's .
